Meet Theo

Theo is the founder and President of Slones Real Estate, a residential real estate brokerage and property management company.

Theo was raised in an entrepreneurial family that taught him to work hard, respect everyone, and always do the right thing.

With his father being a real estate developer, Theo started visiting construction sites at the age of 6. At the insistence of his father, throughout his teenage years, Theo spent his summers working; be it office jobs, working at a cotton farm, or working on vehicle assembly lines.

In college, Theo became interested in wireless telecommunications and e-commerce and ended up spending several years in the high-tech field where, among other things, he had the opportunity to work for the leading provider of text messaging interoperability services, and launch a very popular newsletter geared towards wireless telecom executives.

In the early 2000s Theo started investing in real estate and soon after decided to pursue real estate as a career. Theo’s passion for real estate is evident in his constant pursuit of knowledge. Among other things, Theo has earned the LEED Green Associate credential that provides a solid foundation in green and sustainable construction methods and sustainable neighborhood and community development.

During his real estate career, Theo has also been involved in international real estate. His involvement with FIABCI – The International Real Estate Federation, afforded him insights into how real estate development and transactions are conducted around the world.

Beyond work, Theo is an active real estate investor and has volunteered with several community and real estate-related organizations.  He is a proud sponsor of Blue Ridge United and has volunteered for a non-profit that supports local businesses and promotes the farm-to-table movement.

Theo has served on the Board of Zoning Appeals in the City of Falls Church and has volunteered in the Landlord/Tenant clinic of Legal Services of Northern Virginia.

He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of REALTORS, and on the Professional Standards Committee of the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of two homeowners’ associations in Winchester and Stephens City.

Theo earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, a Master’s degree where he focused on Business Ethics, and a law degree where he spent most of his time studying real estate construction & development law, and immersing himself in litigation and trial training. During law school, Theo had the opportunity to clerk for one of Virginia’s pre-eminent experts in smart growth.

Theo’s extensive experience in a variety of business types; from high-tech to farming, to manufacturing, to real estate, provides him with a truly unique point of view that allows him to think outside the box to find solutions to challenges appearing today, to identify and understand long-term patterns, and to prepare for challenges that we’ll be facing in the near and distant future.

By bringing this unique combination of experience and skills to the Board of Supervisors Theo hopes to contribute to the County’s successful planning for the future.
