Priorities
Business Growth
I believe that a business-friendly environment is necessary in order to support our fast-growing County & to enable us to deliver the services our residents desire as well as the revenue to support the growth we are experiencing. Attracting a wide range of businesses, from small entrepreneurial startups to Fortune 500 companies, is critical.
First Responders
I believe in providing our first responders with the resources they need to support the residents of our County. The Sherrif’s office should have the number of deputies and the equipment it needs to properly serve the County. Our first responders risk their lives to protect our lives. They deserve a top-notch public safety radio system they can rely on.
Property Taxes
I believe that residential property taxes should be kept at a minimum. We should not allow taxes to drive out of the County its long-time residents, retirees, or those with fixed incomes. Increasing residential property tax bills is not the answer to the County’s funding needs. We need new sources of revenue to support our County’s growth.
Education
I believe that the quality of a community is directly tied to the quality of its education system. I believe in attracting quality educators & providing them with the support they need to produce quality outcomes. Children are the future and cannot be ignored. The Board of Supervisors and the School Board must work together to ensure the best outcome for our children.
Transportation
I believe that having a solid transportation infrastructure is vital to our quality of life. The County’s rapid population growth necessitates infrastructure improvements. We must work hard and in collaboration with our state delegation to increase the allocation of funds our area receives from VDOT. At the same time, we must also consider ways to fund much-needed transportation improvements ourselves.
